In 2025, Pharmanova Zambia Ltd signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the International Zinc Association (IZA), a globally respected organization dedicated to addressing zinc deficiency around the world.
Last Wednesday marked an important milestone in this partnership as Pharmanova proudly supported the donation of 50,000 Kit Yamoyo anti-diarrhoea kits to the Ministry of Health Zambia and the Ministry of Education Zambia. The kits will be distributed through their joint school health programme, Healthy Learners.
Kit Yamoyo is a celebrated and proudly Zambian innovation designed to treat childhood diarrhoea quickly and effectively. Each kit contains Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) and zinc, a combination recommended by the World Health Organization as the standard treatment for diarrhoeal illness in children.
The impact of this intervention goes beyond healthcare. By enabling on-the-spot treatment, these kits help reduce illness-related school absences, keep children in classrooms, and improve learning outcomes. Ultimately, they help create healthier communities and brighter futures for Zambia’s children.
Pharmanova extends its sincere appreciation to the International Zinc Association for their commitment to addressing zinc deficiency in Zambia and for partnering with us to deliver meaningful, lasting impact where it matters most.
